SPB

Balu was born on June 4, 1946, in Konetampet, then in Andhra Pradesh, now in Tamil Nadu. His ancestor, Sri. S.P. Sambhamurthy was a fine singer and an excellent exponent of "Harikatha" (a fine art form of showbiz combined with music and story telling). Sacred with an endearing speech and faultless musical skills, SPB was always skilled to be a singer. A young, Telugu-speaking chap from Andhra Pradesh, similar several other boy his phase was learning to trail a occupation in Engineering. He had a normal flair for singing and participated in most of the melodic tournaments from college. In one such contest, was speckled by his guide the late, Sri. S.P. Kodandapani. Balu won the leading prize and ambled out with his first break to sing in the film "SRI SRI SRI MARYADA RAMANNA" in 1966. Thus began a imaginary profession which became history.
